Velvet helps software teams offer distinct messaging, features, and pricing to segments of their customers. Define segments and actions, then use the API to identify users and trigger personalized actions.Platform requirements: We can support any team using Stripe for payments. This is how we generate your first customer list.
Create a free account at velvet.cash/register. Sync your Stripe customer list, then filter and name segments. Take action on those segments using the API, integrations, or CSV download.
Anyone on your team can use Velvet to import a customer list, filter, and create segments. Take no-code action on those segments with integrations (like Zapier), or by downloading a CSV of that segment. Velvet gets more powerful and automated when you use the API to trigger actions or add context to a user record. For these features, you'll want to collaborate with an engineer.
Stripe Connect: Sync existing customer records and create segments. Stripe Checkout: Generate pricing pages per user segment or customer record.Zapier: Trigger one-off or campaign-based communication to segments. Velvet API: Read and write to Velvet. Add data to customer records, identify segments, trigger actions, and implement feature flags. Additional integrations coming soon. Email us with your requests: team@velvet.cash.
The Velvet API is simple and can be implemented by an engineer in a few hours. Generate an API key from your Velvet dashboard. Read our docs for more detail. Call the API to return a user's segment, then trigger actions accordingly. Example: Identify a user in the "freemium" segment. Initiate a welcome email campaign, offer them 30% off their first month, and meter their access to premium content. Write to the API to update a user's customer record. Example: Identify a new user and add them to the "freemium" segment. Send an event each time they hit a premium feature and use it to meter their access.
